So I finally decided to write my own personal site and quit using Tumblr, Posterous, Blogger, and all those other platforms. I join them mainly to keep up with how blog tools out there are working and evolving. One thing I don't know how to write is something that can be emailed, have the file saved, and then posted. My caveman hack around that will be to simply read the RSS feed from either my Tumblr or Posterous blog and create a new post here when a new entry appears there. Then, I'll simply just keep emailing my silly iPhone photos to Tumblr/Posterous and have them appear here that way. Ghetto ass system design workarounds like that have gotten me through over a decade of retail and accounting system issues. I'm not going to stop now.
I'm a hack ass coder that knows a enough to be dangerous with asp.net, C#, SQL Server, etc. I'm even more of a hack when you take it to the front end with JavaScript and HTML. Only taking the time to learn this bullshit at a 75% level has paid tremendous dividends in allowing me to accomplish so much more than your average perfectionist programmer dork, I think.
